Heidelberg Innovation BioScience Venture I
The first fund, established in 1997, Heidelberg Innovation GmbH & Co. BioScience Venture KG (BSV I), had a volume of Euro 12 million. After most of its portfolio companies had been exited the fund with the remaining companies was sold via a secondary purchase.
Heidelberg Innovation BioScience Venture II
In 2001, the second fund, Heidelberg Innovation BioScience Venture II GmbH & Co. KG (BSV II), was closed with a volume of Euro 93 million. This fund invested supraregionally, above all in Germany and neighbouring countries in life science, medtech and biotechnology companies. Since inception, two companies achieved an IPO and six were sold via trade sale. The fund has been transferred into the liquidation state since January 2012 after reaching the end of its regular term.
Heidelberg Innovation parallel participation
As a supplement to BSV II, Heidelberg Innovation Parallel Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KGaA with a volume of Euro 20 million was established in 2001. This fund invested in parallel to BSV II and therefore doesn’t make (new)investments anymore.
